ABSENT NIGHT
A. N. explores cosmic and artificial light sources in the context of dispersal and ephemeral space,
operating on a factual and poetical level. Part of the works originated as an echo of some time spent in northern latitudes
where there is an absence of darkness during the summer and lack of light during the winter.
A series of maps reinterpret global areas of artificial light density records from satellites.
Coated light bulbs display randomly generated surface formations reminiscent of outer space.
The constellations of stars are mapped out as perforations on sheets of paper.
A sphere in a cube glows temporarily after intermittent boosts from a nearby light source. |
